Meet The Librarian
Anne has been the coordinator of the Greater Haverhill Adult Learning Program (GHALP) at the Library since 2002, starting out as a volunteer the previous year. GHALP plays a plays a crucial role the Library's service to the community because Anne trains volunteers to help adults who need instruction in English as a Second Language, GED preparation, and basic literacy skills. There is a great need in Haverhill for these services, and the program always is in need of more tutors. In fact, Anne tutors three students herself! If you are interested in being a tutor, she would be happy to talk with you about it. Anne has some unique qualifications for her work here. She speaks both French and Spanish, and she used to teach in both the high school and middle schools. Anne was born and raised in New York City, and lives with her husband in the local area.
