Jackie Ellis - Technical Services

Jackie is illustrating one of the older technologies in our Library - the card catalog - but, in fact, her job here keeps her on the cutting edge of technology in libraries. Jackie orders and receives books and non-book material for the entire library collection, and enters substantial parts of our collection - item by item - into the computer database. It's a never ending job for this library, since we handle tens of thousands of items every year - and Jackie has worked here for 20 years now!

Jackie also coordinates the Library Volunteer program, matching up volunteers with work that best matches their interests and abilities. She has helped out the Friends of the Library for many years, and is currently the only staff member on the Board of Directors of the Friends, giving the Friends a knowledgeable source for how the library operates and what its needs are.

With 2 married daughters and a new granddaughter (Cailin!), Jackie keeps very active. She particularly like visiting the beach, having grown up in Rhode Island and visited the beach at Jerusalem, R.I. many times. Jackie currently lives in Bradford.
