Meet The Librarian
Melanie
Main Desk
Melanie grew up in Colorado Springs, after spending the first 6 years of her life in Dallas. Only a year after moving to Haverhill in 1997 with her husband Sven, she was hired to work at the Main Desk of the library and has been with us ever since. Melanie enjoys meeting and greeting the wide variety of people who come up to the Main Desk which, by the way, is one of the most consistently busy public service desks in the area!
Melanie and Sven have been married for 6 years, and have a son, Balin, just 14 1/2 months old. She misses being so far away from from her family in Colorado and California, but has in-laws close by. Melanie has a Fine Arts degree from Colorado State University, and even though she certainly has her hands full with a baby, and work, she tries to help out at her husband's Haverhill business, Silvermane.com (149 Washington St.), whenever she can.
