Internet Classes
The Haverhill Public Library offers free Beginning
Internet Classes. The classes are small, with lots of individual attention
and hands-on practice. Each class is approximately 2 hours long. You do not have
to own a computer to take these classes but you are welcome to bring your own
laptop. There is no advance sign-up
for these classes. Please call the Reference Dept. (978-373-1586 x608) for
a schedule.
Internet 1 : Using a Mouse and Surfing the
Internet
For those you have never touched a computer or have limited mouse skills,this class will introduce the basics
of using a computer mouse and keyboard. We will then visit a number of Internet sites and learn some basic
web
browsing skills. Finally, you will learn how to get to a web site when you know its address.

Prerequisite : No special skills are required to take this course
Internet 2 : Searching the Web
The Internet is a great source of information, and can also be lots of fun! In
this class we will begin by reviewing material from Internet 1. Then you will learn how to find good
web sites and information using
Google and other search tools. The class will allow ample time for you to
practice what you have learned and to do some
searches of your own. Preference will be given to those who have taken
Beginning With the Internet (above).

account on the Internet. Ask at the Information Desk.
