Where is the Teen Cyber Center Located?
The Teen Cyber Center is located on the first floor of the library at the end of the teen area. Our homepage address is

What is the Teen Cyber Center??
The Teen Cyber Center is a computer center for Haverhill teens which will be located in
the Haverhill Public Library. It consists of 14 workstations, including one ADA workstation,
with Internet access, text editors, FTP, instant message programs, and search engines. Users
can access chat, email, games, music, video and more.
One mission is to offer cutting-edge technology like scanners, midi
equipment, high speed printers, a digital camera, and more.
The Teen Cyber Center is also a guided-access website -- this very site!! -- that is a
database of community information of interest to local teenagers. Information such as
upcoming events in Haverhill, cool things to do in town, and volunteer and job opportunities
will be posted here. The website will have links to pertinent webpages for teens as well:
homework help, favorite bands, hot new movies, popular celebrities, pop culture, and hobbies,
as well as chat sites, and a page of links to homepages created by Haverhill teens.
We will post school choice information, sports schedules, booklists, and more.
During school hours, the Teen Cyber Center is used by other members of
the community for Internet access and computer training. We received an
information literacy grant in March 1999 and begin teaching computer classes in
using a mouse, using email, searching the internet, and using the internet and
periodicals databases for info on business and health topics.
Why is there a Teen Cyber Center?
The library recognizes that teens need a place of their own, away from
children and adults. Also, by providing a guided access website, we led
teens to sites of interest to them.
Who runs the Teen Cyber Center?
The Teen Cyber Center is supervised by the Young Adult Librarian and
a Behavioral Specialist. Library staff run programs and workshops.
When did the Teen Cyber Center open?
The ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on Monday October 18 1999.
