Public Notice

After much consideration and consultation with the Board of Library Trustees, the Board of Health, and other City Officials, Haverhill Public Library has decided to close to the public beginning Monday March 16. This will coincide with Haverhill Public Schools being closed.  During this time, we will closely monitor the developing public health situation and make decisions about when to resume all activities.

The decision to resume normal activities will be based upon the recommendations of the Board of Health, in consideration of state and federal agencies’ recommendations, and the overall status of COVID-19 (coronavirus).

Staff will be in the building to answer questions via email and phone. We will monitor social media. We are working on possible solutions for providing some access to the collection, we will update as we develop solutions.

We understand the complications this may present to our patrons, but we ask for your patience and understanding as we act with an abundance of caution and with public safety and the well-being of our patrons in mind.

Please access our extensive online services via our website at www.haverhillpl.org.

The Friends of HPL have decided to close their shop indefinitely.

Any questions or concerns may be directed to Library staff. We are happy to do our best to support our community through this developing situation. We will continue to update the public as things change.

Thank you,

Sarah Moser, Director
