Peabody Essex Museum

There are a lot of new and exciting happenings at the Peabody Essex Museum!

Now through July 6, visit the California Design exhibit. This exhibit highlights the sleek and modern design of the midcentury period (1930 – 1965.) This time period introduces open concept living, fiberglass surfboards and Barbie. There are over 250 examples including furniture, textiles, and fashion.

The Peabody Essex Museum will be hosting a “Turner and the Sea” exhibit starting May 31 and continuing through September 1. The exhibit includes 79 of Turner’s maritime works. This will be the only North American venue.

“The Maker Lounge” opened March 29. This permanent addition encourages new forms of creative expression using cutting-edge innovation and individual creativity. There are plans for a number of workshops including one on using 3D printing!

Visit the Peabody Essex Museum to experience these new offerings in addition to revisiting your favorite exhibits – don’t forget the Chinese House!
