I See Life Through Rose-Colored Glasses by Lisa Scottoline & Francesca Serritella

“ …isn’t that the purpose of a book? To help you escape the everyday.” Lisa Scottoline. This latest book by the writing team of Lisa Scottoline and Francesca Serritella is just that, an escape from the mundane.  The authors entertain as they turn mishaps into amusing “slice of life”story. Whether referencing their pets or the wit and wisdom of matriarch Mother Mary, the writers offer an array of heartwarming tales that are sure to entertain. Scottoline looks on the droll side of being a woman of a certain age. Maybe like her, you have needed help with a zipper but perhaps you hadn’t thought to ask your friendly barista. Scottoline has. Reading these stories is like chatting with your best friend, both writers are friendly, witty and insightful. The writing style is fast-paced and sprinkled with punchlines such as “Lately everyone is hating fake news. I’m hating on news I wish was fake.” Scottoline has written several novels of suspense and courtroom intrigue that I have thoroughly enjoyed. Although this book is the eighth in a series of ‘true stories and confessions” written with a hilarious perspective, it is the first that I have read.  While billed as a summer “beach read” don’t let that keep you from picking up this book. It is sure to remind you to breathe deep, savor the sweet, and appreciate all the good that life has to offer. You may also pick up some practical advice.

The mother-daughter team of Scottoline and Serritella will keep you laughing as you read about their adventures. As Scottoline writes: “ We take life and make it funny.” They sure do.
