The 2019 tax season is officially in full swing! We currently have 1040 forms and instructions along with Massachusetts resident forms. These are located on the first floor of the library next to the Civics Corner and the Spanish section. Feeling stuck and overwhelmed? Help is available! Use the resources listed below to make your tax season as smooth and painless as possible.

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program:

The VITA program provides free tax help for people who generally make $56,000 or less, persons with disabilities and limited English speaking taxpayers who need assistance in preparing their tax returns. Volunteers are IRS-certified and prepare taxes using electronic filing for qualifying individuals.

Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) Program:

The TCE program provides free tax help for all taxpayers, particularly those who are 60 years of age and older, and specializes in questions about pensions and retirement-related issues unique to seniors.
